The Scientific Club – €99 per year Even for the most committed trainers and designers, exploiting scientific literature is often a real challenge. It's easy to get lost, and sometimes the conclusions can seem contradictory. As a result, you think you've understood... and you're wrong. Or you don't know what to do with it. However, for a trainer or instructor, in 2025, it's a must. There are numerous publications that closely reflect field conditions. Our mission? To help you integrate evidence-based data into your instructions and training based on recent publications. For example, stress was recorded on a BOPE unit during an intervention during a "robbery." The analysis of this stress led to a publication. This raw data is valuable for understanding the impact of physical and mental commitment. Ultimately, it is about honing the methods and techniques that aim to regulate stress in such situations or to identify limiting factors such as fatigue and sleep. It is no longer a question of relying on the experience of Peter, Paul or James… but of consolidating the content based on data analyzed by researchers. Each month, we analyze recent publications to identify what really works. The themes will remain guided by a single question: what allows us to better prepare and evaluate first responders? We will address physical preparation, stress management and recovery, exposure techniques in simulation, physiological and cognitive assessments (heart rate, fatigue, HRV), as well as the impact of equipment on performance and decision-making. We also share correspondence with researchers. Indeed, for each study discussed, we systematically contact the authors to obtain their insight and critical feedback. Each month, a study, a webinar, all accompanied by ready-to-use materials (PowerPoint, diagrams, additional documents). In France, we speak French! We are inspired by the Quebec example, where the defense and promotion of the language go hand in hand with scientific requirements. Our role is precisely to make this knowledge accessible and exploitable, without giving in to the systematic anglicization of knowledge. For our foreign friends, AI translates French very well and into all languages.
